Class Types

CORE 32 Hot Yoga Series

be HOT YOGA's CORE 32 hatha yoga series is practiced in a hot and humid environment. The hot room warms your muscles to prevent injury, allows for a deeper stretch and cleanses the body by flushing the toxins out through sweating. The postures are arranged in a logical sequence to allowing the practitioner to increase their depth from one posture to the next. It works to strengthen muscles, ligaments and joints. Its therapeutic healing benefits affects the organs, glands and the nervous system. The CORE 32 series benefits the entire body right down to the cellular level.

The CORE 32 series if offered in both 60 and 90 minute options.
- The CORE 32 series uses Bikram Choudhury's 26 posture hot yoga series as a foundation. We have made some changes that improve it by introducing more postures that work the upper body. Small changes can have big results, ask to see Pernille's Gun Show. Pernille is constantly being asked if the strength and definition visible in her arms come from her lifting weights... not at all, it all comes from the CORE 32 hot yoga series.

core FUSION - CORE 32+Yin
- This is the CORE 32/60 minute class with an additional 15 minutes of YIN yoga at the end making it a 75 minute class

 

YIN Yoga
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with postures or asanas that are held for longer periods of time—five minutes or longer per pose is typical. It originates in China and was first taught in North America in the late 1970s.

Yin Yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues—the tendons, fascia, and ligaments—with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. Yin Yoga poses are also designed to improve the flow of qi, the subtle energy said in Chinese medicine to run through the meridian pathways of the body. Improved flow of qi is hypothesized to improve organ health, immunity, and emotional well-being. Yin Yoga as taught by Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers is not intended as a complete practice in itself, but rather as a complementary practice to balance the effects of more active forms of yoga and exercise.

core ENERGY - energize your practice through an expansion of our CORE 32 series exploring Bishnu Ghosh's 84 Asanas

Elevate your practice, come experience the core ENERGY 90 minute class. Intermixed with the familiar postures of the CORE 32 class, explore various new postures from Bishnu Ghosh's system of 84 asanas. In the core ENERGY class you will learn intermediate poses including core strengthening, arm balances, and hip opening poses in a fun and playful way.

Bishnu Ghosh was Bikram Choudhury's teacher. It was Ghosh who sent Bikram to North America to spread the teachings of yoga he had developed. Bikram is credited with being the founder of "Hot Yoga" a method designed to give North Americans a taste of what is is like to practice yoga in India.

 

core SEEDZ - intermediate

Core Seedz is a Iyengar Inspired yoga practice. Iyengar Yoga promotes integration of body, mind and spirit through the practice of traditional yoga postures (asanas) and breathing techniques (pranayama).

Props are used in this class to achieve a deeper understanding of the asana, as well as to preform more complex postures safely. Providing the basic elements that will act as the foundation for a solid yoga practice.
